Story
Got some old (or new) bright shirts or colourful costumes in the back of your closet?
Then let them out for White Cane Day and help raise awareness about why people use white canes.
Since 1964, International White Cane Day has been celebrated on October 15th each year to celebrate the importance of the white cane as a tool of independence for people who are blind or have low vision.
Get Involved
Join VA Kensington colleagues and clients to walk together around part of ‘The Tan’- the outer perimeter of the Botanical Gardens.
Wear a Bright Shirt, have some fun with your colleagues and clients and help us raise a bit of money for your local VA office. Get your friends or family to sponsor you or make a small donation.
Details
Meet at Flinders St Station at 1.30pm. Catch a tram to the gardens. Return to Flinders St Station by 4pm BYO money for afternoon tea in the gardens.
Vision Australia are hugely reliant upon support from the public. Without it they would not be able to continue with the incredible work that they do to provide essential services to help people who are blind or have low vision get an education, jobs and become as independent as they choose.
